The Syrian Revolution: Then and Now

This program will trace the roots of the Syrian Revolution, the bloody and brutal repression of the 2011 peaceful uprising and how the world has turned away as Syria has become one of the the biggest human catastrophes of the 21st Century. Participants will include: AbdAlaziz Alhamza, award winning journalist, founder of Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently and subject of the film City of Ghosts; Marcelle Shehwaro, journalist, writer, and human rights activist from Aleppo, Syria; and Shiyam Galyon, Syrian-American feminist and activist. Q and A to follow.
